Immediately following is a recent note sent by a proud parent of one
of Nino's students

Hi Nino,

We wanted to share the good news about Marcus Benitez. He made it official this past Monday by signing with Truett McConnell College. This is the article and pictures. We wanted to thank you for all your encouragements. I felt that you started Marcus on the quest to realize that he has the potential to go to the next level of being a college player.

With sincere thanks,
Paul, May and Marcus Benitez

TMC signs All-State Player from Chamblee

The Truett-McConnell College Bears announce their first signing of the year with Chamblee Charter School three-year starter Marcus Benitez. Marcus is a 6'6 All-State Honorable Mention Player in 3-AAA GHSA. Marcus averaged 14 points per game, shot 63% from the field, 47% from the 3-point arc, 73% from the free throw line and averaged 3 rebounds per game. He also averaged 2 steals per game and was once awarded the Atlanta Tip-off Club's Player of the Month. Marcus led Chamblee to a 19-9 record and a berth to the state playoffs.

"Marcus is a good fit for the Bears. His ability to score, defend, rebound and play multiple positions will benefit our team tremendously. Even with all that he brings to the team I believe his best basketball years are ahead of him and that's exciting!" Coach Baldwin said of signing Marcus

Great job Marcus!!
